How to inspect a pack

Confirm the goods can be inspected
Look for the Magnifying Glass inspection flag on the tooltip. Keep the Hemingway Identification Guide and colour checker nearby.

Open the Inspection Tray before paying
Use the Magnifying Glass on the seller’s pack. Inspection gathers information; confronting is a separate decision.

Compare one field at a time
Check lettering, colour bands, seal continuity and logo shape against the genuine examples. A correct feature does not cancel another defect.

Confront with the matching issue
Select the defect you can identify, then Confront. A correct challenge updates the price; a wrong one can cost reputation.

Community counterfeit research notes that only the highest-numbered ticked box is evaluated if several are selected.
Value references
Community release tables list a genuine pack around 100 Credits as a Luxury Item and a counterfeit around 50 Credits. Treat those as reference values, not a guaranteed counter offer.
Selling an exposed fake can cost reputation when a customer inspects it. Do not buy a suspicious pack solely because the sticker price looks high.
