Probably Stolen Contraband & Guns: Tiers, Markups, Inspections and Ammo
Contraband sells at a markup — +35% Low, +70% Mid, +100% High, +200% High-risk — but an inspection warns you for Low, confiscates Mid, confiscates and fines High, and arrests you for High-risk. Weapon Permits I–III legalise Low, Mid and High firearms; High-risk weapons can never be licensed.

Contraband tiers
| Tier | Selling markup | Standing multiplier when buying | If found in an inspection |
|---|---|---|---|
| Low | +35% | ×1 | Logged and warned; you keep the item |
| Mid | +70% | ×2 | Confiscated |
| High | +100% | ×2.5 | Confiscated and fined — arrested if you cannot pay |
| High-risk | +200% | ×3 | Arrest; the business ends |
The most serious item found decides the outcome. Any contraband found in a normal inspection also lowers Security standing. A markup is added to the price: +70% turns 100 into 170.
Keeping contraband safe
- 01
Use a Smuggler’s Bay
Ordinary storage cannot replace it, and thieves skip items inside it. The Fence and Chemist start with one.
- 02
Buy an early warning
Wild’s Network’s Inspection Early Warning service (300 base) warns you before regular inspections.
- 03
Keep a get-out card
Clemency (250 base) turns one prison-level finding into a warning; Evidence Removal (500) clears evidence and the investigation.
